One of the major attractions of this town is the Naval Museum , housed in a French Colonial mansion. It is also one of the main fishing centres. Shop for bargains at the many quaint stores and in the market.

GRAND BASSIN
One of the island's many natural lakes resting in a volcanic crater. It is considered a place of worship for the Hindu population of Mauritius .
