Tour of the Falls & Craft Village - 3 hours
After the tour of the Falls as described above, Clients are taken to the Traditional Craft Village . Here they are shown replica homes of the various tribes throughout Zimbabwe & Southern Africa. They will learn about the history of how each tribe began and how the have evolved. There are local people in the village performing traditional skills such as carving, basket weaving and even cooking. Clients will then have the opportunity to shop in the attached market and Curio shops for souvenirs and gifts.
Crocodile Farm (Zambezi Nature Sanctuary) - 2 hours
This tour is conducted in the morning and afternoon. En route, Clients will be taken past the 'Big Tree' where they may stop and take photos. Once at the Croc Farm Clients are shown around and given an insight into the Zambezi crocodile's life. They even get the chance to hold one, a baby one thankfully! The farm is also home to many wild animals that have been injured or abandoned including lions and leopards.
Please note that this is a commercial farm and Clients will be shown all the various products that are made from the Crocodiles and are given the chance to purchase them in the farm shop.
Meet the People - 2 1/2 hours
This tour is only conducted in the late morning and is approximately 20km from town. Clients are taken to an authentic rural village where people are going about their daily lives. They can visit their real homes, see how the fields are tended and even get the chance to help in some of their every-day chores.
Curiosity Shopping - 2 hours
This daily tour is designed for those enthusiastic shoppers who are always looking for a bargain and love to barter. It includes the open-air market, crochet halls and a variety of shops from stone sculptures to antique African art.
Airport Road Shopping - 2 hours
This daily tour starts 20km from town to where the rural craftsmen sell their sculptures on the roadside. Good bargains can be found, especially for the carved tall giraffes and large hippos.
African Dancing - 1 hour
This show is performed nightly out in the open and shows a variety of exciting tribal dances. It gives Clients a chance to sample the wonder and mystery of African ceremony and culture.
Cruises - 2 hours
While cruising along the Zambezi River in a relaxing atmosphere, a variety of game can be seen including hippos, crocs, elephants and even rhino. Many different species of birds can also be seen especially in the early morning.
The morning and daytime cruises are excellent value for money. It is a beautiful serene time to be on the river as there are very few boats utilising it, you can sometimes be the only people on the river and it has a real sense of privacy.
Breakfast Cruise
Departs daily at 07.30hrs.
This Cruise is excellent for those with an interest in bird life. It includes a cooked breakfast, fruit, muffins, tea & coffee and orange juice.
Lunch Cruise
Departs daily at 12.00hrs.
Lunch includes a variety of salads, fresh bread rolls, stir fried chicken, beef and vegetables, deserts, tea, coffee, beer, wine and soft drinks. All food is cooked on board on scottle braais so it is served fresh and hot. (Please advise in advance if Clients are vegetarians).
Sundowner Cruise
Departs daily, 16.00hrs in Winter and 16.30hrs in Summer.
This Cruise has more of a party feeling and includes finger snacks, beer, wine, champagne and soft drinks. There are great opportunities for photos against the spectacular sunset.
The Boma - Place of Eating
This is not just another ethnic restaurant but a unique cultural experience. Excellent cuisine, including a variety of game meats and traditional Zimbabwean dishes, are accompanied by traditional dancers, a local witchdoctor, who will tell your fortune, and a sangoma (story teller) to entertain you throughout your meal.
Safaris & Game Drives
Please note that National Parks are closed if it rains or if the warden feels the roads are unsafe to travel on.
Morning Drives
These depart very early to the Zambezi National Park . Clients are driven around in open back Safari vehicles, while the Guide points out many sightings from animals and birds to insects and trees. Breakfast is not included as Clients are returned to their hotels by 09.00hrs.
Afternoon Drives
Departs 15.00hrs. These drives are very similar to the Morning Drive with soft drinks being provided during the drive. Clients are returned to their hotel by 18.30hrs.
Full Day Drives
Departs 09.00hs. Starting with a morning game drive in the Zambezi National Park , Clients have the opportunity to see any game returning from the river after a morning drink. This is followed by a Lunch Cruise on the Zambezi River . After Lunch the Clients are taken back to the park for an afternoon drive.
Night Drives
Departing daily, this drive offers five hours of unique game viewing. Clients will get a rare chance to see those nocturnal animals that are so seldom seen. A light meal is provided while sitting around an open fire, before the journey back to their hotels.
Walking Safaris
In conjunction with Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, we offer morning or afternoon walks on the Safari Lodge Estate. Their Waterhole attracts many animals including four of the Big Five! The Guides have a vast knowledge of the local wildlife, birds, trees and plants.
Horse Riding Safaris
These depart both morning and afternoon and are designed for both experienced and novice riders. Clients are given the chance to get close to the wildlife in a very natural way. Special attention is given to matching the Client to the right horse so both can feel at ease. Australian Stock saddles are used to ensure a comfortable ride. The morning ride includes a full buffet breakfast. The afternoon ride is 3hrs and on return to the stables, soft drinks, beer, wine and snacks are provided.
Elephant Rides
These depart morning and afternoon. Clients are taken out to the Elephant Camp where they will be introduced and get the chance to interact with the elephants. They then go on a 2 hour Elephant Ride Safari. Morning Clients return to the camp for a full English breakfast, whilst the afternoon riders watch the sunset before they return to sundowners and snacks.
Bungi jumping
111 metres of pure, unadulterated scintillating thrill! One moment you are on the terra firma, gazing out across an ancient and beautiful landscape. Your heart measures 10 on the Richter scale as you break the accepted bounds of reality. Victoria Falls Bridge offers one of the highest commercial jumps in the world. Every jump is filmed and photographed as evidence that you did “The Big One” – all of which are available on the day for purchase.
Helicopter Rides
These flights depart throughout the day. Clients are collected from their hotels 30 minutes before their flight time. When they arrive at the Heli-Pad, based just outside the Elephant Hills Hotel, they are given a brief safety talk and an explanation of the route their flight will take. Clients are flown over the Falls and surrounding areas which enables them to take amazing photos from a unique view point. Flights of 15 or 30 minutes can be booked.
Flight of the Angels
Also departing throughout the day, Clients are taken to the airport where they can board fixed wing planes to experience the magnificent views whilst flying over the Falls. Flights over the Falls last 25 minutes. A 45 minute Safari flight can also be booked which does the Flight of Angels and then flys over the Chamabonda Game Park before returning to the airport.
White Water Rafting
Departs daily for full or half day trips. Tea, coffee & biscuits are served in the morning before the journey out to the Gorge where the rafting starts. The morning is spent riding the rapids before stopping for a light lunch. If Clients are booked for a full day, they will continue rafting in the afternoon. Please be warned that there is a very steep and long climb out of the Gorge at the end of the day which, most people find harder than the rafting!
Canoeing
Breakfast Canoeing.
Departing daily, Clients are taken to the Zambezi River where they are given a short briefing before getting into a canoe with a Guide. Clients sit back and relax while they drift along the Zambezi whilst their Guide points out the many interesting trees, plants & wildlife. A continental breakfast is served on one of the Islands along the way.
Afternoon Wine Route
Departing daily, this takes the same route as the Breakfast trip. Clients do not stop along the way but they have soft drinks, beer, wine and snacks available in the canoe as the watch the sunset.
Full Day Canoe Trip
This daily trip starts further up river and Clients have a continental breakfast on the banks of the Zambezi before they set off. On these trips Clients paddle their own canoe, whilst following their Guide as he leads the way. They stop along the way for a light picnic lunch on one of the Islands , before making their way to the disembarkment point at approximately 16.00hrs.
Please note that Clients will need their passport to enter Zambia . Visas can be bought at the border and are at the Clients own expense.
Zambian Tour of the Falls - 2 hours
Clients are transferred from their Hotel in Victoria Falls across the border and to the entrance of the Rain Forest in Zambia . A Zambian Guide will give them a brief history of the falls and then escort them to the various Cataract viewpoints. Clients will then have the chance to shop in the adjacent open air markets before returning to Zimbabwe .
Chief Mukuni's Village - 3 hours
Mukuni Village is home to the Leya people and visitors are taken in daily. They are shown the homes of the people and the Chief's Palace and learn about this interesting culture. This is a real village with a population of 5000. Clients sometimes get the opportunity to taste some of the tradition foods and beer.
Livingstone Museum - 3 hours
The Livingstone Museum is one of a kind in this area. It contains the most comprehensive memorabilia of Dr. David Livingstone, including authentic maps and diaries and covers the history of the region from the formation right up to the present day. The Museum also contains Anthropological, Natural History and African Culture sections.
Railway Museum - 3 hours
Although it is in dire need of funding and is rundown, this museum does have some of the oldest and most unique engines and rolling stock on display in Southern Africa . It offers visitors the opportunity to gain a wider understanding of the extraordinary drivers and railway heritage.
Maramba Market - 3 hours
These are vibrant markets where Clients can test their bargaining skills. Maramba is the largest market enclosed in a quadrangle and spilling out on to the sides. Here the local people sell everything from "chitengies" to pots & pans made from old motor cars. The Guide will accompany the Clients and explain some of the unusual things they will never have seen before. It also provides the opportunity to meet the local people and take some interesting photos. The market was not set up for just tourists. This is where the people of Livingstone come to shop!
Game Drives (AM or PM)
The Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park boasts five white rhino, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and various antelope amongst stunning views of the Zambezi River . Although small by African standards (1600Ha), this increases the chance of seeing game. Clients are also shown some historic sites such as the Old Drift where the original white settlers lived before 1904.
Day Trip of Livingstone
A variety of day and half day trips to Livingstone are offered including any of the above tours and can be tailor made to suit your Client's needs.
Clients will need their Passports to enter Botswana and if necessary an Entry Visa, which must be purchased in advance from a Botswana High Commission. Under no circumstance can Visa's be bought at the border.
Chobe Day Trip
This tour departs daily to the Chobe National Park in Botswana . Clients will be taken to the border where their Botswana Guide will meet them. They will proceed straight to the River where they will spend the morning game viewing along the Chobe River . Tea, coffee & biscuits are provided. The morning cruise ends at around 12.30hrs and Clients are taken to one of the hotels on the riverbank for lunch.
After lunch, Clients board safari vehicles for an afternoon game drive in the park. They will now get the chance to see the abundance and variety of wildlife that Chobe is renowned for.
The Clients are returned to the border around 17.15hrs. A guide from Safari Travel Agency will be waiting to return them to their hotel by 18.30hrs.
Full Day Game Drive
This is geared towards Clients staying on in Botswana . Clients spend the whole day in the park game viewing. A packed lunch and soft drinks are provided. Clients are returned to their hotels by 19.00hrs. |
