Day 1:Saturday

Depart Windhoek and drive via Rehoboth into the Kalahari Desert for overnight. A scenic drive will be undertaken
towards sunset (in open vehicles).
DBB Kalahari Desert – preferably Auob Lodge

AUOB LODGE
A green Oasis in Kalahari on banks of Auob River. 26 rooms and 2 family units en suite, buffet dining room, conference
facilities, bar and lounge. Swimming pool, nature drive available. Airstrip available, horse-riding, lapa, TV Room. 6 km
before Gochas C15 from Stampriet. Easily accessible by road or plane. Three star rating.

Day 2:Sunday

Drive through Kalahari and visit the Quiver tree forest near Keetmanshoop. Short stop in Keetmanshoop. Lunch en route
(for own account). Continue to Naute Dam for a quick stop.
DBB Fish River Canyon - preferably Cañon Roadhouse

CAÑON ROADHOUSE
Due to its elaborate décor Cañon Roadhouse has almost acquired cult status in Namibia: the good old days of the
automobile are celebrated with great attention to detail. Cañon Roadhouse, located just 14 km from the main gate to the
main viewing point at the Fish River Canyon, offers 9 very neat en-suite rooms, an à la carte restaurant with terrace, a 2
bar, a petrol station and an information centre. Take a refreshing dip into the pool or enjoy a slice of our legendary
Amarula cheesecake



Day 3: Monday

After breakfast, travel to the Hobas Campsite, an entrance to the Fish River Canyon to view the Canyons’ most
spectacular northern fringes. Continue to Aus and visit the Aus Information Centre. Possibility to enjoy lunch (for own
account). See desert adapted horses on entering Namib Desert. Enjoy spectacular scenery of the Aus Mountains on an
unguided walk. Scenic sun downer drive in the afternoon (for own account).
DBB Aus region - preferably Klein Aus Vista – Desert Horse Inn

KLEIN AUS VISTA – DESERT HORSE INN
The Desert Horse Inn consists of 24 tastefully decorated rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Sundowner can be enjoyed on
a sundeck, at the Wild Horse Bar or in winter at a fire place in the lounge. On offer are excursions to the feral horses of
the Namib Desert, a day trip to the Koichab dunes, several hiking trails..


Day 4 : Teusday

Optional excursion to Kolmanskop possible – enquire with your guide regarding the rate (minimum of 4 pax). See the
ever-changing vistas of the desert landscapes when driving along the most beautiful district road in Namibia, the D707
(road conditions permitting). Visit Duwiseb Castle before arriving at your Lodge in the early afternoon.
DBB Maltahöhe region – preferably Hammerstein Rest Camp

HAMMERSTEIN REST CAMP
Situated between Maltahöhe and Sesriem. The Rest Camp consists of 51 twin rooms en-suite and 5 self-catering
bungalows, a buffet dinner restaurant, a bar and a swimming pool. There might be tame leopard, cheetah and caracal in
nearby enclosures to be seen. Sundowner drives into the mountains (Bushman paintings), sightseeing flights as well as
4x4 trips to Sossusvlei can be arranged. Airstrip offered.


 

 

Day 5:Wednesday

Early start to visit Sossusvlei, where we will undertake a drive with 4x4 vehicles into the heart of the Namib Desert.
Climb into the gorge of Sesriem Canyon before you travel past the impressive Namib Naukluft Mountains to your lodge.

NAMIB NAUKLUFT LODGE

Approximately 18 km south of Solitaire. At the foot of a massive granite hill, the stylish Namib Naukluft Lodge is the
ideal springboard from which to explore Sesriem and the famous Sossusvlei. Each of the 12 double rooms, 2 family
units and 2 single rooms has its own private patio opening out to embrace the infinity of the Namib. A nature drive, a
hiking trail (unguided) and excursions are offered to Sossusvlei on a daily basis.



Day 6:Thursday

Drive through Kuiseb Canyon and continue towards Walvis Bay at the coast. Lunch in Walvis Bay (for own account).
Visit Walvis Bay Lagoon to view seabirds. Travel to Swakopmund. Enjoy a sun downer drive to Moon Landscape in the
afternoon.

SWAKOPMUND GUESTHOUSE
Situated in the town centre, a mere five-minute walk from the beach and main shopping area. They offer four standard
rooms, seven luxury rooms and one family suite for guests wanting to indulge in a comfortable stay-over close to the
ocean. The spacious rooms are fitted with crisp, white linen sheets. Wallpaper portraying a peaceful view of the ocean
adds to the clean and neat atmosphere of the guesthouse. The en-suite bathrooms with soft cream walls are decorated
with beach pebbles that give them a unique atmosphere. All rooms come complete with minibar and television. The
Swakopmund Guesthouse is run with an eco-friendly approach, making use of solar energy and recycled water.

 

Day 7:Friday(unguided)

Explore lovely Swakopmund. You may wish to book an optional day tour (for own account) in Swakopmund (guided tour
through historical town or the Mondesa township, quad-biking, sand-boarding; Living Desert Tour, scenic flight over
Skeleton coast or catamaran or boat cruise at Walvis Bay). Many optional activities are on offer (for own account): visit
aquarium, museum or crystal gallery, and many more.

Day 8:Saturday(unguided)

Another day to enjoy the splendours and many attractions of Swakopmund. Possibly meet at dinner fellow travellers who
join the tour in Swakopmund.

Day 9:Sunday

Depart early morning on the salt road towards Henties Bay, past some pans and an array of bird life. Visit Twyfelfontein
and the Organ Pipes on way into Damaraland. Lunch packs en route. We will arrive at the lodge during the late
afternoon.

Day 10:Monday

Optional morning guided hiking trail where you are introduced to the rich flora and fauna of the area. Lunch at the lodge.
In the afternoon join a sun downer drive in the Aba Huab River and possibly encounter the desert dwelling elephants
(seasonal).
FB Damaraland – preferably Twyfelfontein Lodge 4

TWYFELFONTEIN COUNTRY LODGE
The Lodge is situated in the heart of the Twyfelfontein Uibasen Conservancy and boast 56 en-suite double rooms,
reception, lounge, curio shop, open dining room, bar and swimming pool. In construction utmost care was taken to
reduce the visual impact on the environment and to blend into the mountainside with the use of thatch roofs, natural
stone and paint colors toning in with the surrounding rock formations



Day 11:Teusday

Leave Damaraland. Visit a Himba village near Kamanjab and learn more about the culture and the tradition of this halfnomadic
people. Continue via the little town of Outjo. Lunch stop (for own account) - possibly meet fellow passengers
joining the Etosha tour. From there continue to Etosha National Park. Arrive in the early afternoon and undertake your
first game drive into the park.

ETOSHA SAFARI CAMP
50 twin-bedded safari chalets nestle among Mopane trees and impart a feeling of living in the lap of African nature. Each
chalet is equipped with mosquito gauze and its own bathroom and small verandah. The Lodge is a mere 10 km away
from the Andersson gate. There is a swimming pool and walking trails.



Day 12:Wednesday

The entire day will be spent in the park, exploring the waterholes along this enormous saltpan. Lunch stop at one of the
rest camps (lunch for own account).
DBB – privately owned lodge/safari camp near Etosha Park – preferably Etosha Safari Camp

Day 13:Thursday

Another day of explorations in this world famous National Park. Your guide will introduce you to the complex subject of
managing such an enormous reserve. Lunch stop at one of the rest camps (lunch for own account).
DBB - preferably a privately owned lodge near the Park; alternatively a camp inside the Etosha National Park

Day 14:Friday

Depart the Lodge or camp and travel south towards Otjiwarongo. Opportunity to join the group en route to Victoria Falls.
Continue towards Windhoek via Okahandja where we will visit a local handicraft market. Tour ends on arrival in
Windhoek late afternoon
