Day 1– 6 as per Southern Tour STS7 programme

Day 7 Friday (unguided)

Explore lovely Swakopmund. You may wish to book an optional day tour (for own account) in Swakopmund (guided tour
through historical town or the Mondesa township, quad-biking, sand-boarding; Living Desert Tour, scenic flight over
Skeleton coast or catamaran or boat cruise at Walvis Bay). Many optional activities are on offer (for own account): visit
aquarium, museum or crystal gallery, and many more.
BB Swakopmund region - Pension / Guesthouse in Swakopmund

SWAKOPMUND GUESTHOUSE
Situated in the town centre, a mere five-minute walk from the beach and main shopping area. They offer four standard
rooms, seven luxury rooms and one family suite for guests wanting to indulge in a comfortable stay-over close to the
ocean. The spacious rooms are fitted with crisp, white linen sheets. Wallpaper portraying a peaceful view of the ocean
adds to the clean and neat atmosphere of the guesthouse. The en-suite bathrooms with soft cream walls are decorated
with beach pebbles that give them a unique atmosphere. All rooms come complete with minibar and television. The
Swakopmund Guesthouse is run with an eco-friendly approach, making use of solar energy and recycled water.

Day 8:Saturday

Depart early on a shuttle transfer from Swakopmund to Okahandja, where you will meet your guide and other guests
coming from Windhoek. Travel via Outjo into Etosha National Park, where we undertake the first game drive in our
touring vehicle. Just before sunset we will leave Etosha again and drive to our lodge/safari camp outside the Park.

ETOSHA SAFARI CAMP
50 twin-bedded safari chalets nestle among Mopane trees and impart a feeling of living in the lap of African nature. Each
chalet is equipped with mosquito gauze and its own bathroom and small verandah. The Lodge is a mere 10 km away
from the Andersson gate. There is a swimming pool and walking trails



Day 9: Sunday

Day excursion into the Park. Except for the rainy season, Etosha’s animals are dependant on artificial waterholes and
natural springs. Explore the various waterholes along this enormous saltpan, which is called the “great white place of dry
water” in a local language. Lunch stop at one of the rest camps (lunch for own account).

Day 10: Monday

Encounter the big variety of wild life in the Park one more day. Of the 114 mammals species found in the Park, several
are rare and endangered like the black rhino of the black faced impala. Your guide will also introduce you to the complex
subject of managing such an enormous reserve. Lunch stop at one of the rest camps (lunch for own account).
DBB - preferably a privately owned lodge near the Park; alternatively a camp inside the Etosha National Park

 

Day 11: Teusday

Depart the camp or Lodge and travel south towards Otjiwarongo. Opportunity to join the group en route to Victoria Falls.
Continue towards Windhoek via Okahandja where we will visit a local handicraft market. Tour ends on arrival in
Windhoek late afternoon.

· Air-conditioned vehicles are used, however, bear in mind that Namibia is predominately desert terrain. Expect dusty roads and high temperatures.
· Pre- and post nights in Windhoek for most tours required due to early departure on first tour day and late arrival on last tour day.
