FAQs at Trip Tours Namibia

1. what about security?

Namibia is a real model of safety and stability - and Windhoek is even one of the cleanest capital cities in Africa! But as with any adventure, keep your eyes open and stow your valuables safely!

2. what about the currency in Namibia?

Here in Namibia we use the Namibian Dollar (NAD), which is equivalent to the South African Rand (ZAR).

3. malaria - Should I be worried?

No, for the most part Namibia is malaria-free. But if you are traveling to the north, get some information (and perhaps tablets) from your family doctor beforehand.

4 I drive myself - any tips?

In Namibia, it is compulsory to drive with your lights on during the day. Our tips: Avoid lonely areas at night and make sure that your vehicle is always locked. Safety first!

5. what are the roads and gravel tracks like for self-drivers?

The adventure often begins on the road! In Namibia, you can expect well-developed roads as well as challenging gravel roads that lead through breathtaking landscapes. Our tips for self-drivers: Be prepared for different road conditions and drive carefully, especially on gravel roads. A sturdy vehicle with good ground clearance is recommended to enjoy Namibia's beauty to the fullest. Don't forget to carry enough water, a spare tire and an emergency kit. This way you will be well equipped for your self-guided safari experience.

6. what about photos?

Namibians are friendly, but please ask permission before taking photos. Drones are not allowed in protected areas.

Your passport should be valid for at least six months and have at least two free pages for new adventures. Please note that the visa requirements depend on your country of origin.

8. what do I pack?

Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses are essential - it can get very hot in Namibia! During the summer months, temperatures often rise to over 40°C, and even in the winter months you can enjoy pleasantly warm temperatures that are ideal for T-shirts and light clothing.
