Tour Programme

Day 1 – Arrival in Windhoek

Arrive in Windhoek from Cape Town and spend the first night enjoying the sights and sounds of Namibia’s capital. Windhoek combines historical architecture with modern city life, restaurants, shops and cultural attractions. Consider exploring Christuskirche, the Independence Museum and other city landmarks.

Overnight: Hilton Garden Inn Windhoek

Accommodation basis: Bed and breakfast.

Day 2 – Windhoek to Swakopmund

After breakfast, travel west towards Swakopmund on the B2. The journey takes approximately four hours. If travelling in a suitable vehicle, consider a detour to Spitzkoppe to admire the towering granite formations and discover the area’s ancient rock paintings on a guided walk.

Continue to Swakopmund, settle into your hotel, explore the coastal town and enjoy sundowners before choosing one of the town’s restaurants for dinner.

Day 3 – Swakopmund to Brandberg

After a leisurely breakfast, drive towards Henties Bay and stop to photograph the Zeila shipwreck. Continue inland via Uis towards Brandberg White Lady Lodge. The surrounding Damaraland landscape is renowned for its rugged desert scenery.

Day 4 – Explore the Brandberg Region

Spend the day exploring the Brandberg area. Visit the renowned White Lady rock painting, part of the region’s rich ancient rock-art heritage, and enjoy the striking surroundings of Namibia’s highest mountain massif. In the afternoon, explore the area for the possibility of seeing desert-adapted elephants. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.

Day 5 – Return to Windhoek

Set off early for your return journey to Windhoek, marking the end of your self-drive safari. If flying out the same day, the supplied itinerary recommends booking a flight departing after 17:00 to allow enough time to return to the capital.
